A deep red flesh plum that is long in ripening and is so versatile in the culinary and cocktail/mocktail arena. Taste wise its tart and sweet and lingering, with a great aroma. Satsuma is also a health power house due to its high level of anti oxidants in particular Poly-saccharide – nature’s natural bio plastic that can repair epithelial cells found in your intestines, esophagus, and other soft tissue layers. It also helps the go, if you know what we mean.

Satsuma Plum comes to us from Japan via California in the latter half of the 19th century.  It arrived in the Finger Lakes in 1927, and enjoyed many decades as an exotic deep flavor plum. There are only a few growers left in the Finger Lakes. We hope to keep the long tradition alive by making Satsuma Plum Shrub.

We extract the flavor and juices from fruit harvested here in the Finger Lakes region whenever possible. If off-season or not native to the Finger Lakes, only the highest quality fruits are used. This helps produce the vibrant color and flavor of our small-batch shrub. There are no flavor enhancers, preservatives, or colorants. Ever! Taste the Finger Lakes Harvest difference!
